Make Money Playing Texas Holdem By Calulating Texas Holdem Odds
By http://kingsclubpoker.com/

Successful texas holdem poker players are well aware of the odds
with every hand they are dealt. The odds of success in texas holdem
plays a big role in the actions of the player. Sure, sometimes you'll
bluff or do something that goes against the odds to keep the other
players off balance, but a good texas holdem player will still be
aware of what those odds are.

Good texas holdem players know the chances of getting an overcard,
what the percentage chance is of flopping a set, a straight, or a
flush. Knowledge of the texas holdem odds is a big key to being
a money making holdem player.

Here are some of the things you need to know about calculating texas
holdem odds.

Pot Odds: Pot odds have to do with the size of the current pot against
the next call you make. For example, if you are holding AC2C with a pot
of $400 and your opponent bets $400, it's not worth calling. If you don't
hit a club, you'll lose a lot of money. However, if in the same situation,
your opponent only bets $40 into a $400 pot, your pot odds are good and you
should call. If you hit, it's a big pot and if you don't, you haven't lost
much.

Bet Odds: These are the texas holdem odds based on the number of players
that call a raise. For example, your previous AC2C has a 30% chance of
hitting. If a handful of other players are going to call your bet, your
bet odds are good.

Implied Odds: In texas holdem the implied odds are the odds you get after
the assumed result of betting. If you assume your opponent is going to
call you on 4th and 5th street (turn and river), then your implied odds
are good.

The 4/2 Rule:

The texas holdem 4/2 rule is a simple way to give you a
rough idea of your odds of winning a hand on the turn or river. Let's
use your AC2C hand again as an example. The flop comes down 5C-9C-QH.
This gives you 9 club card, or "outs", in order to make your flush.
Multiply the 9 x 4 and you get 36%, which is your odds of making the flush
on the turn. If you miss a club on the turn, you then multiply 9 x 2 to
get your holdem odds of hitting your flush on the river, in this case 18%.

Keep in mind, this doesn't take into consideration other players at the
table having any of those heart cards. Maybe three of the players that
folded each had a club. That would mean you really had only 6 out cards
on the turn, which would be 24% odds (6 x 4) and then 12% oddes (6 x 2 )
on the river.

Outs: In texas holdem outs odds are the number of cards or "outs" available
to you to win on hand on the flop, turn or river when you are behind.
